FITS & "The Fix" - Great Minds Think Alike

"The Fix" by Washington Post reporter Chris Cillizza has long been one of FITS' favorite blogs.

That's why we thought it was pretty cool when Cillizza published this post on the ten worst incumbent campaigns of 2006, coming as it did so swiftly on the heels of FITS' Five Crappiest Campaigns of the South Carolina election cycle.

So what do you gals and guys think?

Who's run the best campaigns here in South Carolina? Who's run the worst?

We'll even open the field to include the primaries, which our original post did not take into consideration ...

The Floyd campaign has been the only statewide campaign run by any candidate this election cycle. They have more gound troops then any other campaign.

Gaffes:

I join you in citing the Norman campaign - though in my case, I'm glad he's a crappy candidate.

I think Ravenel has been surprisingly low-key in the fall race, and that stupid "gameshow" ad for Grady might actually work. If Ravenel manages to lose, I'd put his campaign in that bad category.

Floyd comes dangerously close to looking like a typical politician with her Clintonesque position on vouchers/tax credits. Fortunately for her, I doubt most of the electorate notices, though, so she's probably ok.

Moore going undercover after the primary was a big mistake, so he gets a vote.

Best run:

Spratt

Am I missing a caveat in the question or was it not the worst and or best run incumbent's campaign as the issue here?
